On-the-Job Training (OJT)

Our goal is to connect qualified candidates with quality businesses.  Through the use of the OJT program, we can provide paid training to an employer as a result of a bona fide job offer.

On-the-Job Training (OJT) is a federally-funded program that helps employers hire and train individuals for long-term employment.  For this program, individuals must be eligible through WIOA and have been determined to be in need of training services.

Every job has some level of on-the-job training.  After all, the best place to learn the skills needed for the job is on the job, right?  An OJT contract provides a way for those in need of training to earn an income while they learn the skills!

When developing an OJT contract, a WIOA Employment Counselor will review your training goals as well as the employer’s needs.  The employer will be reimbursed for the costs of your wages during your training period, up to $8,000 over 6 months.

An OJT contract gives employers an incentive to hire Ohio’s unemployed workers, while giving job seekers the hands-on training to ensure that new employees have the skills needed to become a valuable asset as a full-time employee.

Are you interested in obtaining an OJT contract and training plan?  Stop by the Employment Center to complete WIOA orientation.  There is no appointment necessary to complete orientation, but please allow 30-45 minutes to view the video and complete paperwork.
